What I've been doing

It has been awhile since I posted to this blog so just thought I'd post something quick about what I have been doing.

I haven't been able to afford to re-up my World of Warcraft account for awhile now, though I don't know if I really want to return.   Mostly just want to play with friends I have there, but not so much interested in the game anymore.

I've been playing a few games on OnLive as well as playing Bulletstorm, Fallout: New Vegas and few other games I have on my computer.  Mostly first person shooters.  There are a number of games that are already out that I want to get my hands on and some others that will be coming out.

Currently my wishlist consists of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Batman Arkham City, Diablo 3, Guild Wars 2, Star Wars: Old Republic, Rage, Assasins Creed: Revolations, Warhammer Space Marine, Serious Sam 3, Borderlands 2 and I'm sure the list will just keep on growing.  Not sure if there is a way to post my Steam wishlist or not.

Anyways I need to find more time to actually post here, and post about what I'm doing.

Playing Rift

Realm of the Fae Mountain Top in Rift
So lately I haven't been playing World of Warcraft as much but instead have been giving Rift more of a try.  I tried it once before when it was still in beta and while the game is interesting and is sorta fun to play, there is just some reason why I still can't seem to find myself as immersed  into the game as I did when I first picked up World of Warcraft.

Epic Gems

For awhile now I've read a number of times about epic gem predictions so here is mine.  There will be no epic gems this expansion.  Since 4.3 is going to be the last major patch of this expansion, what would be the point of adding in epic gems now?

Honestly I think just having uncommon and rare cuts are enough anyways, Though I do have a wish for rare cuts in the future, even though this is probably going to be the last expansion for me.

I think they should add a perfect cut proc to the rare gems, have the rare gems have a chance to proc something like +10 to a secondary stat.  So say you cut a 40 int gem, and it has a chance to proc 10 hit or some other secondary stat on it as well as a perfect version of the gem

Guild Chat Courtesy

Just thought I'd post a bit of something having to do with a post I was looking at today on WoW Insider, "Drama Mamas: Should guilds mandate courtesy?"

    Dear Drama Mamas,

I am a guild leader of a large social guild, with a large group of officers.

At officer meetings there are a small group of people who continue to bring up the subject of guild members not saying hello when people log on or grats when an achievement is made, they feel as if they are being ignored and are not welcome, although I have had no complaints from other guild members. This subject has been discussed many times and the main conclusion that the majority of us agree upon is leading by example, as we can not force guild members to say hello or grats. But the same people continue to gripe about this one subject which sometimes leads to aggressive discussions on the officers forums. I understand that they feel strongly about it and have attempted to address the problem many times and tried various things to appease them to no avail.

How can I diffuse the situation without resorting to doing something drastic like demoting them, which may cause serious ramifications for the guild (i.e. people guild quitting, aggressive discussions overflowing into guild chat and accusations of abuse of power).

    Sincerely

    Perplexed

Single Player Games That Require Internet

Screenshot of Assassin's Creed II from Wikipedia

I have about 7 days off from work as I took my second week of vacation for this year, and for some reason my roommate just had to get behind on paying the bill with Comcast yet again, who provides are internet, TV, and home phone.
